Bronze
Each piece of bronze is individually handmade.  At Studio 4, we take special care in consistently crafting an "old weathered handmade" look.  Bronze is a non-ferrous metal composed of 95% copper, 4% silica and 1% trace metals and, thus, will not rust.  Our bronze, because it has a high amount of copper in it, will sometimes have a copper color to it.  As with all natural materials, there will be variation in color.  Bronze lasts for centuries and is both strong and durable.  It is ideal for floors and high traffic areas.  Please take special note that bronze is ever changing and with time all bronze oxidizes (the rate will depend upon it's environment).  When bronze tarnishes, it takes on a darker color.  If installed in a shower, it can turn a green or blue color.  You can enjoy your bronze ever changing surface or you can use a mild soap and water along with a scotch brite pad to clean off "colored tarnish" and reveal the original bronze surface.  To prolong your bronze surface from changing, apply a paste wax sealer.

Pewter
As with bronze, our pewter is handmade and specially crafted for that "old weathered handmade" look.  Our pewter is made of 94% tin, 4% antimony, and 2% copper and is lead free.  Unlike bronze, pewter is much softer and over a long period of time can show wear in high traffic floor areas.  Proper care and use are necessary, as pewter can scratch.  Pewter maintenance is simple, use mild soap and water and a scotch-brite pad to clean.  Keep harsh cleaners away.
